Dying Man’s Daily Journal – Happiness

I came across a wonderful quote I want to  share.

“People miss their share of happiness, not because they never found it, because they didn’t stop to enjoy it.”    William Feather.

Amen! Happy New Year Bill and Vi!

Dear A.M. Happy New Year to you and yours.

  2. Henri says:

    Hi Bill,

Yes, for me, since I am not so good at writing prose. I prefer to let others such as Elie Wiesel:

The opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference.
The opposite of art is not ugliness, it’s indifference.
The opposite of faith is not heresy, it’s indifference.
And the opposite of life is not death, it’s indifference.

Have a great New Year.. Thanks to your “ramblings” I will do my best Not to be indifferent.

Henri, I am a lucky man to have you as my bother-in-law. This is such a wonderful quote, I thank you so much for sharing it. It gives me a slightly different way to view things and the world for that I am grateful.
Happy New Year Henri, and to the entire family over there.

Hi Mel, both are such really good quotes, in my mind keepers for sure. Happy New Year to you my friend.

Hi Bill! Hmmm…I mis-read the quote at first because I read it too fast…I actually thought it read…”because they didn’t stop to share it” (placing “share” at the end of the quote)…which strikes true as well. You do a good job of sharing Bill…and I wanted to share a special token of Love and Understanding with you too…If you drop on over to my site, you’ll see what I mean. Hugs…xoxo

I think I like it best if both words are worked into it. I thank you so much for the special token you left me. It is wonderful. I am trying to figure out how to post it here.
    I thank you
    Bill

  8. Roads says:

You’re right, Bill, that a little perspective is a wonderful thing.

The optimist says that the cup is half full. The pessimist says that the cup is half empty.

And the engineer says that the cup was made twice as big as it needed to be.

I’ve always found that there’s a kind of elegance in each of those perspectives. Even differences of opinion can have their virtue, if you’re sufficiently determined to smell the flowers along the way.

Hi Roads, I agree differing opinions make this world a better place. Also as you say, if you are determined to smell the flowers along the way. Thanks for sharing

So true. I love it! Thanks so much for writing your blog it’s a constant reminder for me to embrace each day and make the most of it. My husband started calling it “Diggin’ it while it’s happening” It’s a silly phrase, but we try to remind each other constantly to live with the spirit of appreciation. It’s not hard to do when you look for it.
Happiest of New Year’s to you and Vi

Hi Venus, “diggin’ it while it’s happening”, living with the spirit of appreciation. This is great, I hope you don’t mind if I borrow the “diggin’ it while it happens line”
    Thanks for stopping by

this a very nice quote…. sometimes we never realized that a missing piece of our life is just infront of us… We intend not to appreciate things around us, for were too blind to see it with our eyes… I think it is common norms of human that we still searching for what we dont have rather than enjoying or being contented what we already have……

    Godbless….. Happy New Year!!!!

rhosie, you have said it all so well. It is like mourn not what you don’t have, instead celebrate and appreciate what you do have. Thanks for sharing.

Hello cousin Bill and Vi and families!!!

Happy New Year!! 2008 is going to be a fabulous year! I predict that you will get well over 200,000 hits to your site this year. In fact, I’m thinking closer to 250,000. A lofty goal I know, but if you aim for the stars, you can at least get to the moon, which is pretty special in itself!!
I hear what your saying? Is she still drunk from New Year’s? NNOOOO! (LOL) Just trying to keep a positive outlook on things this year. Glad to hear you had a great Christmas and what better way to ring in the New Year than with your fabulous brother Eric and his wife Linda! I bet you all missed having Sara around this year, but what a great experience for her!
Well, I’m going to keep this short, so best wishes to everyone for a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year!!
    Love, Cousin Sherry

Hi Cousin Sherry. It is really nice to hear from you. Hey, your mum called last night, we had a short but very nice chat. I was at first going to edit out the fabulous part of your comment in referring to Eric and Lynda, don’t want them to get swelled heads. But, then I thought “it’s true” so decided to leave it in. lol
Hope you have a great year.

How to live, by the dying.

Cheese or fast cars ? I’d take cheese, every time.

Roads, my dear friend. I thank you so much for sharing this wonderful link. It is a wonderful article. It states so well, what I suppose it part of my main purpose for my blog. I have to do a post on it shortly.
I do thank you for bringing it to my attention

Don’t ya LOVE all the deep hidden messages in that movie???

    It’s a child’s movie…meant for adults!

    (tee-hee)

    Good to see ya, buddy!

    Ron

Hi Ron, I am going to have to check out that movie again. I know I saw it years ago but can’t really remember it. All my best to you.
